Hi Hi! If you're visiting here from J.J. Devine's place, thanks for stopping in. If you clicked here to begin your tour, I'm honored. This week's RWW assignment comes from the fantastic Xio Axelrod, author of The Calum (which I just happened to have read and it just happens to be awesome). Here's the question: A Day in the Life: What do you do when you’re not writing? So . . . in a nutshell: These two kitties are good company no matter what I'm doing. They hang out on the cat tree that resides beside my desk from time to time. They're excellent listeners when I'm feeling pressure or getting flustered with work (or writing, or just life in general) or have a joke I want to share. We got a puppy slash almost full grown dog already for Christmas this year. He's a great exercising buddy since he gets my up and out of my chair (or head) . Because it's good to get out, get some fresh air, remember what the world looks like. Stuff like that. I wake up somewhere between 5:30 and 6:00am. If I have a story on my mind, it's more like 4:45. I make the coffee pronto (or cappuccino, whichever) because . . . caffeine, and get some writing in. If I have a blog post that's due or social networking to take care of, I work on that too. I'm lucky enough to work from home. So during the week, I log on to that job and begin a full day of business analysis verreh early - mornings are spent catching up on emails, reviewing any projects that have been assigned to me and handling miscellaneous issues that might have come up since the last time I logged on. The rest of the day could be just about anything. Literally. We have a teenager who needs to be at school by 7am and an elementary sized person who needs to be there by 8:30am. Good thing we car pool, is all I'm saying. And by the time they are home in the afternoons, there is homework to assist with and / or projects to buy supplies for. Lunch hours are not wasted. I spend them eating, yes, but also writing, social networking, writing, and researching. The Weekends? Holidays? It depends really. Could be anything from managing my OCD to organize, vball tourneys, soccer games, house cleaning, errand running, grocery shopping, child carting, friends of child carting, friends visiting, visiting friends, family, work meetings, trips, beach, movies, parks and recreation, etc. (not to mention writing, but this post isn't about that) - It's all a mosh pit of fun up in the Richardson house. No matter what day it is (usually) around 5:00, our dinner ritual begins. We are constantly on the look out for new dishes to try and the girls even help when they are feeling chef-ish. SIDE NOTE: I love Pinterest.
After dinner, depending on the day of the week, we might have a sports practice to get someone to, or homework to assist with (still) or a dog to walk (again) or more house upkeep to keep up with. Also, must see TV is very high on my priority list. I won't even get into the long list of shows I'm obsessed with right now. And just like that, before I know it, the day is gone. I'm an early to bed kinda girl, so I don't stay up till all hours of the night writing, these days - even though I'd love to from time to time, not gonna lie . . . but then again, I am up before the crack of dawn, so . . . there's that. Exciting, right? *smile* Hey, here's something that IS exciting . . . don't forget! I'm hosting a giveaway this week! Lots of prizes for you to win, like: Signed paperback copy of Cursed be the Wicked Salem tote Journal SWAG Amazon gift card eBooks Check out all the deets and enter HERE (scroll to the right to see the rest of the prizes). OK. Time for me to go check out what S.C.Mitchell is up to during his writing down time. :) Big love guise. See ya next time.

Sounds like a busy day, girl. 1/6/2015 04:43:13 am
OMG I love that dog! I can't believe you took on another pet. You are a wonder woman. Your day starts WAY too early for me. I am a stay up all night kind of girl. I wish I was an early riser, I just love sleeping in too much :) 1/6/2015 05:36:38 am
I couldn't believe it either Amy but he is such a good boy and learns super fast! Much less maintenance that I would have expected. Thank god. 1/6/2015 06:15:13 am
A teenager and an elementary schooler? Yikes- you win for being split in multiple directions! I envy your ability to rise early. Not there yet. 1/6/2015 06:18:29 am
It stems from my Maryland days Veronica, when I had to be up by 5:30 am and drive the beltway to get to work by 7:45. Fun stuff, now my internal clock won't let me sleep in to save my life. LOL ;) 1/6/2015 07:11:24 am
Dogs rock! Mine force me out to breathe and exercise, otherwise I'd be stuck inside all day

I'm not sure how people who work full-time ever find time to write. I doubt I could, except maybe on the weekends. If that happened, I'd insist on having a house cleaner so I would write on weekends. Sounds like your days are full! 1/6/2015 10:00:28 pm
It's like anything else you love doing, you make time for it. ;)

Hey Jo! (I love that name, as you know lol.) Could I be an honorary Richardson on a day that you try out one of your Pinterest recipes? I do that too, so we can swap. =) Comments are closed.
